►EA3/BC-086, Castell de Montjuïc, 185m
March 2026: I came to Andorra via Spain (Barcelona) to ski for almost one week. Stayed in Canillo (part of Grandvalira ski resort). Unfortunately, Andorra does not allow foreign radio amateurs to operate there, therefore I could not do any transmissions there.
On March 6, on the way back home from Andorra to Chisinau, I stayed one day in Barcelona, and used this wonderful opportunity to get on the air, with my Kenwood HT. So, I went to do a SOTA activation of EA3/BC-086, Castell de Montjuïc, at 185m altitude. Took the gondola and then at the top lift station I went further up, entering the castle. I had a nice view of Barcelona and used a long telescopic antenna, to reach as far as possible. However, I was only able to do 4 QSOs on VHF over half an hour, which did allow me to have a successful activation, and I am very grateful to Rodrigo, Jaume, Fernando and Sergio who made this possible! I was sooo happy!! Afterwards, I called for 30 minutes more, so one hour of ham radio activity in total, but nobody else responded.
