ER/MD-004, Movila Măgura, 388m
August 27, 2025: Moldova Independence Day - field day with
myself, ER1PL and ER3UA, at the most picturesque peak in Moldova -
Movila Magura, 388m, ER/MD-004. We did a successful triple SOTA activation on
HF and VHF (this summit has never been activated before).
I worked QRP 6W with the Yaesu FT818ND and a vertical antenna (5.5m whip,
loading coil and 10 radials on the grass) for HF. For VHF a HT was used with
the L5 log periodic antenna from Elk Antennas.
A fantastic
day with fantastic views and a wonderful company!
