ER/MD-014, Dealul Dumbrava, 321m
September 27, 2025: SOTA activation of the hill "Dealul
Dumbrava" (ER/MD-014), 321m, locator: KN47cl.
This hill is located to the south of Ghiliceni village in the Ghiliceni
Forest Reserve (POTA MD-0151), so I did a double activation from this
location. The summit is not friendly to tourists, as it is located in a
dense forest at more than 1.5km distance from the village. I drove as
far as I could, then walked half a kilometer, of which the last hundred
meters were literally through bushes, as there was no other access
route. I worked QRP with a QDX digital transceiver and a small
amplifier (<10W). The antenna used: classic telescopic vertical with a 5m whip and 10
radial wires on the ground.
