ER/MD-016, Dealul Lărguța, 314m
September 6, 2025: SOTA activation of the hill "Dealul
Lărguța" (ER/MD-016), 314m, locator: KN46eh.
The hill is located in the middle of the Tigheci Forest Nature Reserve,
about 2km from the surrounding villages (we came from Hanaseni), but the
forest is very dense and we walked mostly on visible paths, which
actually meant 2.5km up the hill, in one direction, about an hour's walk
(the way back down the valley was obviously much easier and we managed
it in 40min). I worked a little over an hour, QRP (6W), with a vertical
antenna with a 6.5m telescoping whip + coil (for the 40/30m bands) + 10
radial wires. I made 8 QSOs in digi modes to warm up, followed by 13
QSOs in SSB, of which 2 were S2S (summit to summit - one was from the
mountains of Poland and the second from the mountains of Switzerland),
then finally 4 ultra fast QSOs in FT4.
