ER/MD-021, Dealul Unțești, 292m
November 1, 2025: SOTA activation of the hill "Dealul
Unțești" (ER/MD-021), 292m, locator: KN37wf, and it's 8
km away from ER/MD-017, by car.
The summit is in the middle of the forest in the northern part of the Untesti village, between Vulpesti and Untesti. The view from the edge of
the forest is magnificent! But it is not a convenient location for SOTA
because the forest is very dense, there's no space to comfortably set up
the antenna.
I was operating QRP with the QDX digital transceiver and a small
amplifier (10W power), using a Chinese Pac-12 classic vertical with a
5.6m whip and 10 radial wires.
